Heritage Plants and Trees

The garden has several Heritage trees and starting soon, they will offer a Heritage Rhododendron Collection for those interested in gracing their own gardens with some of the original hybrid rhododendrons that were introduced into the Pacific Northwest starting in 1928.
Our staff helps to maintain the Heritage plants by:
  • Trimming and labeling the plants
  • Providing irrigation
  • Building paths for access by visitors
  • Propagation by cuttings for the preservation and reproduction of the genetic material.
The collection maintenance will be conducted by Van Veen Nursery Inc as well as a core of volunteers.
